March Meeting, Friday 29th March 2024 7.30pm. ‘The Channel Dash – 1942, The Escape of the German Battleships’, by Ian Thomson. In February 1942, the German battleships Scharnhorst and Gneisenau and the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen slipped out of Brest Harbour in a dramatic Channel dash back to Germany. Ian’s talk is about that daring breakout and the amazing running battle which followed. The meeting will take place at Otford Village Memorial Hall, Otford High Street, Otford TN14 5PQ. Admission £5 (cash only, please). Doors open 7pm. Refreshments will be available during the break. Free car parking next to Hall.
