The Beatles in Kent (Including Sevenoaks) by Ian Hooper

8th May
The Beatles in Kent by Ian Hooper
Ian’s illustrated talk will provide a fascinating account of the historical connections between the greatest pop band of all time and The Garden of England and Sevenoaks in particular. Ian Hooper is a recently retired management consultant and an amateur guitarist/musician, occasionally appearing in an electro-acoustic duo called Darkside. He has been a lifelong fan of The Beatles and started researching their connections with Sevenoaks and Kent as a Covid lock-down project. He created the Beatles in Kent website as a response to the lack of information and sometimes misinformation that he found on the internet about this important piece of social history. All talks start at 8pm in St Luke’s Hall in Eardley Road, Sevenoaks. Tea and coffee are available from 7.30. All are welcome to attend – no need to book: just turn up! (We invite non-members to make a donation of £5, deducted from your first annual membership subscription if you join the Society).
