Join us in Church of St John the Baptist, Tonbridge Road Wateringbury talk by Professor Juliette Pattinson who will tell the remarkable story of secret agent Yvonne Baseden  Tickets £7 on the door.  In 1955, Second World War secret agent Yvone Baseden was the subject of the television programme This is Your Life. She has a remarkable story and this illustrated talk will introduce you to her. You’ll be hearing about her interesting heritage, the recruitment and training that 22-year-old Yvonne underwent, her wartime experience as a wireless operator, her incarceration in a concentration camp and the post-war newspaper articles in which she frequently featured. Despite this exposure, she is not a household name like Odette Sansom or Violette Szabo. The talk will draw on the personal interviews that Juliette conducted with Yvonne.  Juliette is a former pupil of Maidstone Girls Grammar School and her parents live in Wateringbury.
