Wateringbury Local History Society It is time to join the Society for the coming year £20 (or £10 for under 21s) which is great value for 8 talks and a Christmas Social Evening.  Or come along on any evening for £7 as a visitor.  The new season of talks opens on Wednesday 16th September when Bob Ogley will be telling us about Kent in the 20th Century All talks last about 45 minutes and are held in the village hall with the talk starting at 8pm.  Free tea or coffee from 7.40pm. We have an interesting series of talks booked for the coming year:  Malling Poor Law Union (the local workhouse); The Making of English Canals, QEII a lifetime of service, The Defence of England in World War 2, Medway Muddies, Titanic – the ship that never sank, and The London of Charles Dickens.   We look forward to seeing you.
