Empiricism

Empiricism
19th May 2.15pm-4.15pm
Community Talks In Herne Bay – Philosophy: Empiricism with WEA Lecturer David Derrington from Cornwall. An Englishman, a Scotsman and an Irishman. An atheist, a sceptic and a bishop. Bertrand Russell, David Hume and George Berkeley – three colourful characters and bold pioneers in a distinctively British brand of philosophy: Empiricism. A common-sense focus on scientific knowledge along with the boldness to explore paradox and the counter-intuitive. In other words, it’s a view which holds that true knowledge comes from either sensory experience or on empirical evidence gained through experience. This talk will be appealing, thought-provoking and entertaining. For details and to book a place ring Tel: 07919978883
