Maidstone Wind Symphony To Serve Up Classics & Cake: an Afternoon Tea Concert Featuring Maidstone Young Musician 2025
Afternoon concert this July will include patriotic ‘last night of the proms’ style finale and award-winning catering
MAIDSTONE, Kent – award-winning local wind orchestra Maidstone Wind Symphony will host ‘Classics & Cake’, its first ever afternoon tea concert, at St Augustine Academy, Maidstone, on Saturday, 5th July, featuring a special solo performance by George Hall, winner of Maidstone Young Musician 2025.
The event will include chamber music and a full hour-long concert by Maidstone Wind Symphony, culminating in a rousing patriotic ‘last night of the proms’ style finale with pieces including Pomp & Circumstance and Rule, Britannia!
Afternoon tea will be provided Fabulously Fed, the team behind Fed on The Green in Bearsted, recent winners of ‘Best Cafe in Kent’ at the 2025 Muddy Stilettos Awards. Concert-goers can enjoy picnic boxes featuring finger sandwiches, mini sausage rolls, scones and sweet treats, alongside unlimited tea and coffee.
“We’ve never done an afternoon tea concert before, so we’re looking forward to bringing something new to our audience,” says Maidstone Wind Symphony’s Music Director, Roger Graham. “We’re particularly delighted to feature Maidstone Young Musician 2025 George Hall as our guest soloist.”
Tickets are priced at £23 for adults and £10 for children, inclusive of all performances and afternoon tea.
