When multiplied over the population this has a huge environmental impact — of materials sourced, manufactured, packaged, transported and then thrown away. If instead we get our clothes, furniture, toys, and household appliances repaired, we would save all the carbon emissions emitted when making new goods, and reduce other environmental damage too.
