Kent Music and Dance Groups Come Together for Around-The-World Concert
MAIDSTONE, KENT — Four Kent-based music and dance groups are combining their talents for an “Around The World in 80 Minutes” concert at Mote Hall, Maidstone Leisure Centre, on Saturday 29th March.
Award-winning wind orchestra Maidstone Wind Symphony (MWS) will headline the event, performing music from across four continents. The programme will include musical journeys through the old markets of Paris and bustling streets of India, a fiery conga through Cuba and a voyage down the Amazon River.
MWS will be joined by The City of Rochester Pipe Band for an evocative performance of Highland Cathedral – a piece written for the 1982 Highland Games and now performed all over the world.
Maidstone’s Old School Samba will bring a taste of the carnival to the evening with a set of live Samba music.
The concert will close with music from Bill Whelan’s world-famous Riverdance, performed by Maidstone Wind Symphony alongside dancers from the Arthurs Mason Irish Dance Company.
Tickets for the Around The World in 80 Minutes at Mote Hall on Saturday 29th March are now available at a cost of £18 for adults, £15 for seniors and £7.50 for children. Tickets can be purchased at www.maidstonewindsymphony.org.
