Extra info: Victory Wood is a 350-acre site on the western edge of the Blean Woods National Nature Reserve, one of the largest areas of continuous ancient woodland in South East England. It is the flagship site of the 2005 Trafalgar Woods project to mark the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar. The wood is named after Nelson’s ship, HMS Victory, which was built at Chatham Dockyard. Trafalgar Day is marked every year on 21 October.
