Medway Street Angels
We offer a service to the local homeless community by providing hot food/ drinks, camping essentials, general every day food/ drink, clothes and toiletries on a daily basis to the homeless in Medway.
We have ongoing fundraising campaigns in order to help us support individuals with clothing, food, replacement IDs and rehabilitation costs. We also receive clothing/ camping donations from the public which we hand out.
We attend/ arrange various meetings with the homeless in connection to housing and addictions. We have recently teamed up with Arriva buses who have provided us with free travel scratch cards for these meetings.
We have also linked up with Strood Chiropody and Podiatry in order to be able to book the homeless free appointments there too. We have a team member who is advising them all on their benefits and we also remind them of their appointments.
We have linked up with Headhunters salon in Rochester and have some days lined up where they will be offering a free wash/ haircut to the homeless.
Alongside this we also have a bookshelf in The Baobab Tree Centre in Chatham which provides the homeless with free books. We also help out at a local shelter in Gillingham and are lucky to have a nurse on our team who provides medical assistance when required.
