Talking newspapers for the bind The Whitstable Echo was started in 1975 and provides news of Whitstable and the area on USB once a fortnight. It is entirely free to blind or partially sighted people. The news, provided by The Whitstable Gazette is recorded, put on to USB and posted (free of charge) to our listeners who can listen to the news on players (supplied free of charge). The USBs are posted back to us free of charge. If any of your readers have friends with sight problems, who might like this service, please let us have their details and we will visit them and start them off on our service which will enable them to be aware of all the local news.
