Rising Sun aims to provide a safe future for survivors of domestic abuse in Canterbury, Ashford and Folkestone & Hythe. Every day, we strive towards a world where women and children can live free from actual or threatened domestic abuse and all forms of violence. Survivors are supported through holistic, trauma-informed services designed to meet their needs at whatever stage of the journey they are in. Helping them towards safety, recovery and to rebuild their lives. We offer specialist services to those who are in crisis or high-risk situations, as well as those who are living with the mental, emotional, physical, social and financial effects of their trauma. Our adult services are a lifeline to women by providing 1:1 support in the community, advocating for their rights & safety and ensuring they feel believed and supported throughout. We also offer 1:1 volunteer-led counselling by highly-qualified psychotherapists and a weekly drop-in service to breakdown societal barriers. Our children & young people service provides counselling and mentoring to young people who have been victims of domestic abuse, helping them to understand their trauma, manage their emotions and recognise healthy relationships and live a positive life going forwards.
