Neighbourhood Watch

Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) is a partnership between the Police, Community Safety departments, and above all, individuals and families who wish to make their neighbourhoods better places to live through crime prevention and community cohesion. Each scheme has a Coordinator, it is their responsibility to act as the point of contact within their scheme, to share information amongst scheme members, encourage members to share and implement crime prevention advice and to encourage the reporting of suspicious incidents. NHW scheme objectives may include: • Reducing crime and the opportunities for crime • Helping and reassuring those who live in fear of crime • Encouraging neighbourliness and closer communities • Helping to improve the local environment A Neighbourhood Watch Scheme can cover just the street/road/close you live in, or a whole village! It’s completely up to the Coordinator. If you would like to set up a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme in your local area, please contact your NHW Liaison Officer via the email below – they will provide you with a welcome pack to help you set up your scheme.
