Could You Help Keep Local People Connected? For many of us, getting to a hospital appointment, popping to the shops or attending a social gathering is something we take for granted. However, for many older residents and individuals with mobility difficulties across Sevenoaks and West Kent, accessing reliable transport can be a significant challenge. This is where Imago Community’s Dial2Drive service makes a real difference. Dial2Drive is a volunteer-led transport service supporting people who are unable to use public transport easily due to age, disability or health conditions. Using their own vehicles, volunteer drivers help passengers attend medical appointments, complete essential errands and take part in community activities, enabling them to remain independent and engaged in local life. The service offers much more than a lift from one place to another. For many passengers, the opportunity for conversation, companionship and reassurance can be invaluable, especially for those who may otherwise experience isolation or loneliness. As the need for community transport continues to increase, Imago Community is seeking more volunteer drivers to support the service. The role is designed to be flexible, whether you are available for a few hours each month or can offer regular time each week, every journey helps someone maintain their independence. Drivers use their own cars, receive mileage reimbursement and are fully supported throughout their volunteering experience. It’s a rewarding opportunity to meet new people, support your community and make a meaningful impact.
