Hempstead Pavilion Playgroup provide a safe, child centred environment to support children, through play, to become confident, capable and unique individuals.

We are a small Playgroup, situated within large parklands, for children aged 2 – 4 years 11 months. Our fully qualified and experienced staff work closely with parents to plan and provide a wide variety of activities and opportunities to support individual children’s learning and development through play.

Our garden area is surrounded by a tall, secure, fence overlooking the park. It provides a soft surfaced construction area, large lawn area, vegetable planters, a playhouse and spacious patio area for children to access on a daily basis through free flow play . All children will experience regular outings to the play park and surrounding parklands. We also hold various events, such as Sports Day and a Christmas Concert, throughout the year.

Hempstead Pavilion Playgroup has strong links with the local schools to support the children in their transition to school and also work closely with other professionals to help and support families with different needs.

Hempstead Pavilion Playgroup are part of Medway ‘Eat Better Start Better’ initiative . Research shows there are huge benefits to children if they exercise regularly and eat a healthy diet. Not only does it improve their wellbeing but there is also a direct link with improved academic achievement.

Starting school is a major mile stone in your child’s life. At Hempstead Pavilion Playgroup we run School Readiness sessions on a Wednesday and Friday afternoon to support children in preparing for their next step and start school ready for the challenges ahead.
