Celebrating the 80th Anniversary of VE Day
Saturday 10th May at 2.30pm
(doors opening at 2pm)
Detling Village Hall
Tickets: £10 Adults, £5 Children under 12 which includes: traditional afternoon tea, entertainment and community singing.
Side stalls and attractions: a raffle, lucky programme, tombola, Make Do and Mend, lucky dip, photos and stories.

All proceeds to help preserve Boxley Church

Come and join a community moment of celebration on Saturday 10th May 2025 in
Detling Village Hall from 2.30pm – 5pm with doors opening at 2pm.

“We’ll Meet Again”- celebrating 80 years of Victory in Europe. This will be very much a community event. It will consist of a traditional afternoon tea, followed by some light entertainment.
We will also have a few side attractions, such as a raffle, Make Do and Mend, Dig for Victory (lucky dip for children), Keep the Wheels Turning (tombola), Keep Calm and Drink Tea.

We are hoping that some members of our church and community, or their relatives will write a short story of their memories of WW2, and/or supply some photos that can be displayed in the hall.
How about joining the “We’ll Meet Again” choir and orchestra we are forming to sing/and or play favourite WW2 songs/music.
We are really looking forward to the afternoon. Please do join us and if you wish in a costume of the day!
All proceeds from this event will go to help preserve our beautiful church in Boxley.
