Medway and its Jewish Community
Medway and its Jewish Community
26th June, 7pm, Newington Village Hall
Irina Fridman, an author and local historian, will chart the settlement of Jewish people in Kent at Newington History Group’s public talk. She’ll give an insight into the lives of Medway’s Jews with stories about fascinating characters and moving human experiences. Medway had one of the largest provincial Jewish communities in Victorian Britain which Irina wrote about in her 2020 book Foreigners, Aliens, Citizens. Her talk to Newington History Group is open to all (£4 at the door, members free) and starts at 7pm with time for free light refreshments and a social chat afterwards.
